Implementing Email Opt-In Lists to Optimize Your Internet Marketing Success
Anyone that visits your blog or web site is a potential customer, and they are more likely to become a purchasing customer if you make the effort to keep in touch with them. Building opt in email lists is a very essential marketing tool
Opt in email lists gives you the opportunity to stay in touch with your potential customers by acquiring their email address. Once you have the means to contact subscribers on a regular basis you then have the means to keep them informed about your latest products or services.
You need to make sure that any visitors to your site are given a good incentive to opt in for your emails though. There are numerous ways you can achieve this, such as offering a free report or gift when they opt in. To keep a record of all your subscribers you are going to need to get an autoresponder. As the name suggest an autoresponder allows you to set up email campaigns on complete auto pilot.
Once a person signs up on your site they receive an email asking them to confirm that they want to sign up to receive information from you. Normally you would then make sure that you have pre-programmed at least 5 follow up emails are sent to them one day at a time. So, on day 1 they get the first follow up email, day 2 they get the second email and so on. After this initial period you can then make sure your subscriber get a certain amount of emails from you each week.
You need to be aware that potential subscribers may visit your site by landing on any of your sites pages. If your sign up form is only on the home page and they do not land on the home page you may lose a potential subscriber. Therefore you need to make sure that they are able to subscribe to your mailing list from all your sites pages. Do not however, make the subscription form a focus point of every page it is on.
The ideal place for your opt in form is on the side bar of the pages so that it is visible but not to distracting. If you are getting site visitors and they are still not subscribing to your email opt in lists try changing the free gift you are giving away. If that does not work try moving the opt in form to a different place on the page. By making changes like this you can work out what works and what doesn't.
You can get potential subscriber to your web page or blog by writing articles on the topic your website is about. By writing and posting articles to article directories you can generate lots of free visitors, or as it is termed in Internet marketing, traffic. Another way to get traffic is to create a simple video and posting it to YouTube.
To create a simple video all you need to do is take one of your articles and put the bullet points into a slide show. You then record the slide show using a video capture program. To make the video even more informative you could record yourself reading the article whilst the slide show moves through the bullet points. You need to make a point of making sure the URL for your site appears on the slide show.
Creating email opt in lists is a powerful strategy that you should be using. Having an email list of eager customers will give you a long term customer base that you can sell to over and over again.
